I’ve been following Neo Coffee bar (@neocoffeebar) for a year or so on Instagram and have always wanted to make a visit. But excuse after excuse, I finally made it my mission today to visit this warm-toned and minimalistic Japanese coffee shop.
It was quite a busy Sunday afternoon by the time we got to the cafe, but finding a spot only took a couple minutes! The cream in the roll cakes was so light and fluffy and to be honest, even though I love matcha, I preferred Fatuma’s Pistachio & Raspberry cake. The bits of pistachio in combination with the fluffy cream was so delicious. Visiting Neo coffee bar was just as comfortable as I imagined. The warm incandescent lights, wooden interior and the comfortable seating arrangements made it like a second home to me (even though it was my first visit). I’ll definitely be coming again and trying out the Cortado and Kyoto Matcha Late.
I’m jealous of all the George Brown students who can visit this local coffee bar after class. It’s definitely too far of a trek for me to visit Neo too often, but I will gladly go out of my way to come here with my friends. Right now, their deco includes mini pumpkins and assorted tree branches piled nicely near the window – and I’m all about that.
The St. Lawrence Market is also a couple blocks away, so going to the weekly Sunday Antique Market at 125 The Esplanade is an option for a weekend activity as well! (Well, that was what my itinerary looked like today, haha).
